D.P.S.C. (Dipsy)

The Digital Painting Sketch Club (DPSC), or Dipsy, is a group of artists gathering to draw socially and engage in some friendly competition while we exercise our digital painting skills. Every week (unless special circumstances disallow it...) DPSC meets for one hour-- just one little hour out of our otherwise horribly busy schedules-- to relax, meet other awesome artists, learn new skills, compete for prizes, and most of all, to draw!

The basic idea of Dipsy is that every meeting has a random topic; students come together and have exactly one hour to draw whatever they want based on that topic. While everyone is drawing, the night's 'special guest' (usually a very talented upperclassman) paints their take on the same topic and talks about their own process and techniques, as their image is projected onto a screen for all to see. At the end of the hour, everyone votes anonymously on their favorite image, and the artist who receives the most votes wins a prize (such as an art book or sketch book).

It's tons of fun, and we hope you'll join us!

Note: You are NOT REQUIRED to enter your picture in the competition, or even to show it to anyone at all. This is a chance for YOU to draw and explore and learn new techniques without any pressure!
